Project Name:

Lanyon and Lynn's Conservatory

Location:

Ballywalter Park, Newtownards

Architect / Designer:

Alastair Coey Architects

Completion Date:

10/02/2010

Category:

A significant Grade A listed housebuilt for the present owner's Great, Great, Great Grandfather between 1846 and 1850 to the designs of the distinguished artist, Sir Charles Lanyon. This conservatory, also by Lanyon, was added c.1870 along with a billard room wing.

The Restoration of Ballywalter Park has been ongoing for many years, having commenced in the late 1950s - early 1960s, most recently the restoration of the conservatory has taken place. The family wanted to keep with the original design as much as possible, and I think we succeeded in achieving this, with the curved borders cut on our state of the art waterjet machines.

Images have been added to this project, showing the storyboard of such a historical and delightful building. You can see from our before and after pictures that a lot of work was undertook by Armatile.
